Abstract

As time goes by, the development of the website is increasingly rapid according to user needs. The website itself is a digital platform for communication and media information available via the internet so that it can be accessed by everyone, anytime and anywhere, as long as they are connected to the internet network. The website has an important role in the application of information in various fields, especially in the field of education. Educational institutions need a profile website as a link for information about schools that can be introduced to the outside world so they can be interested in schools. Usability analysis on a website can help provide an evaluation to improve and develop a better website. The Balung State High School website has several obstacles faced by users, so it is necessary to evaluate it with a usability analysis of user needs and updates to the appearance of the website. This test was held in order to analyze more deeply the usability of the website, which will be able to provide recommendations for improving the appearance of the website and can be developed according to what has been analyzed. Testing on the Balung State High School website uses the Webuse method, which has 4 usability categories, namely Content, Organization and Readibility, Navigation and Links, User Interface Design, Performance and Effectiveness. The test results that have been carried out using the Webuse method get an initial result of 0.38 (Poor), which means the usability of the website is low, and the second test uses a new website recommended by the author to get a value of 0.80 (Excellent), which means the usability of the website is high .
