Abstract

The development of technology in the industrial sector requires that every company be able to utilize existing resources, one of the most important things in the production process, namely machines. PTPN XII Ngrangkah Pawon is a limited liability company with share ownership including the government of the Republic of Indonesia and PT Perkebunan Nusantara III (Persero). The use of machines is also applied to the production process at PTPN XII Ngragkah Sepawon, one of which is the vis pulper machine to be able to maintain the performance of the machine must be carried out periodic maintenance to avoid damage. This study aims to determine whether or not it can be done to minimize maintenance costs on the vis pulper machine by using the method of preventive and repair maintenance. This type of research is quantitative by observing and researching the data obtained during the production process for 3 years (2020-2022). This research was conducted offline for 1 month, from July - August, 2022. Data analysis was carried out using 2 methods, namely the repair policy and the preventive policy. From the calculation results, the maintenance costs in 2020 are Rp. 497,354/weeks, in 2021 Rp. 6,797,131/weeks, and in 2022 Rp. 373,089/weeks calculated using the methodRepair maintenance while the results of the calculations preventive maintenance in 2020 were obtained by scheduling maintenance to be carried out once every 4 weeks in the amount of Rp. 708,817/weeks, 2021 the results were obtained by scheduling maintenance once a week in the amount of Rp. 8,508,950/weeks, and in 2022 the results obtained by scheduling maintenance once every 4 weeks is Rp.524,366/weeks. From the results of these data it can be concluded that it can be done to minimize costs on the machine vis pulper use preventive maintenance policy, but minimizing maintenance costs using repair maintenance policy better done because the resulting costs are cheaper than the preventive maintenance policy. This is due to the components on the vis pulper machine the price tends to be more expensive if the replacement of parts is carried out continuously, it can cost a lot.
