Abstract

Carambola fruit (Averrhoa bilimbi L) has an oval shape with a length of 4-6 cm, green to yellow shiny fruit skin which contains lots of flavonoids, saponins, vitamin C, and tannins. The addition of Belimbing Wuluh extract in drinking water has the advantage of being able to reduce or neutralize pathogenic bacteria that can interfere with the digestive tract. This study aims to determine the effect of adding belimbing wuluh extract (averrhoa bilimbi l.) on the provision of drinking water on the quality of hybrid duck carcasses. This research was conducted from March 9 to May 9 2022, this research was carried out at the Poultry Slaughterhouse (RPA) of the Department of Animal Husbandry, Jember State Polytechnic. The number of ducks used is 200 types of ducks used Hybrid ducks. Ducks are kept from 1 day until harvest at the age of 60 days. The research design used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. The concentration of adding starfruit extract at P0 used starfruit (0%), P1 (0.5%), P2 (1%), and P3 ( 1.5%) per 1 liter of water used. Parameters observed were live weight, slaughter weight, hairless weight, carcass weight. The results showed that the treatment of starfruit extract results from the weight without hair P0 and P1 there was no significant or non-significant difference (P> 0.05), from the results of carcass P0 and P3 there was a real or significant difference (P <0.05 ), on the quality of hybrid duck carcasses. From this study it can be concluded that the live weight and slaughter weight did not show a significant or non-significant difference (P>0.05), while the hairless body weight showed a significantly significant difference (P<0.05) in body weight gain the highest is 1632 and the lowest is 1455.
