Abstract

This reseasrch aims to determine the quantitative and qualitative superiority of water melon line SE 473 with 3 comparison varieties. Superiority test aims to test the potential production of tested genotype. This research was conducted in September 2018 until January 2019 at research field and laboratory of CV. Jogja Horti Lestari Pedak, Sinduharjo Village, Ngaglik, Sleman Regency. It was apllied Randomized Block Design non factorial consisted 1 line and 3 comparison varietis of water melon with 4 replications. The data was analyzed by f Test (ANOVA) and followed by BNT 5%. The result of this research shows that the tested Galur SE 473 has quantitative superiority there are skin thickness of 0,83 cm and edible flesh of 68%. The qualitative superiority is higher vitamin c content with average of 37,69 mg.
