Abstract

Developing a tutorial video of tour guiding was the writer’s final project. This project was aimed as additional knowledge to help tour guides or anyone who wants to work as tour guide in guiding the tourist. The writer made a tutorial of tour guiding as his final project because this video related with the writer’s knowledge that has been obtained from English for Tour and Travel subject. The writer also get the material from Swiss-Contact website which provide full material of tour guiding. In conclusion, those material will help the writer to made the video of tour guiding techniques. The tutorial video was conducted in State Polytechnic of Jember from September 2017 until February 2019. In this tutorial video, the writer showed three sessions, they are opening, contents and closing. The first session was opening. The writer introduced himself and the contents. Next was contents, the writer presented four topics in this video; General Behaviour, Responsible Tourism, Research Skills, and Tour Guide Ethics. Each topics was present by a short video and audio dub. In developing tutorial video the writer applied his writing skill in making script process and his speaking skill in making video process. The writer made mistakes in grammar, diction and expression used. The writer also got some problems related to his pronunciations, gesture and expression. In shooting process the writer asked a professional cameraman to help in a making video. After the shooting process finished, the writer conducted evaluation and editing to get feedback from her supervisors. First supervisor gave a comment about the gestures and expressions. Second supervisor gave some comments related about angle and pronunciations. In conclusion, from making this final project the writer got some knowledge in developing tutorial video of tour guiding techniques. The writer learnt deeply about how to be good and professional tour guiding. The writer hopes that the video can be beneficial for English Study Program and anyone who want to learn and work as tour guiding.
