Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of a solution of Wuluh starfruit leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) on the physical quality of race chicken eggs. The research method used was Completely Randomized Design (CRD) using five treatments, consist of P0 (0% wuluh starfruit leaf), P1 (5% wuluh starfruit leaf), P2 (10% wuluh starfruit leaf), P3 (15% wuluh starfruit leaf), and P4 (wuluh starfruit leaf 20%) with four repetitions. The parameters observed were egg white index, egg yolk index, haugh unit, and depth of air bag in race chicken eggs. The use of starfruit leaf solution influences the physical quality of race chicken eggs where the use of starfruit leaf solution can maintain the physical quality of race chicken eggs from the 21st to 27th day and eggs soaked using the leaves of starfruit are still good and included in the standard egg consumption. Overall the best concentration in the use of a solution of Wuluh starfruit leaves to maintain the internal quality of chicken eggs is 20%. The results showed that the use of a solution of Wuluh starfruit leaves (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) can maintain the physical quality of broiler eggs.
