Abstract
Home industry Al-Hikmah is one of the businesses that focuses on the processing industry of agricultural products. The challenges faced by the Home Industry Al-Hikmah are in improving the quality of production of tempe chips. Where the tempe chips product can be more desirable than other products. Purpose of this research is 1) determine the defect or improve the performance of the product of tempe chips 2) measure DPMO values (defects per million opportunities) and Sigma level in the company 3) Analyzing the level of damage and factors causing damage to Tempe chips product. The methods of analytical techniques used are Six Sigma methods. Six Sigma is a tool in measuring the quality of products that focus on the overall production system of the company. Six Sigma Concept is DMAIC namely Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control. The results showed that the types of defects that occurred in the production of Tempe chips are still within the control limit. The resulting DPMO value is 137,000 meaning that in one million product opportunities produced there are likely 137,000 defective products. The Result of the analysis using cause effect diagram indicate the factors causing defect is methods, human, machinery/equipment, and raw material.
