Abstract

The aimed of this study were: (i) to determine the location of the rice field sampling for analysis of the organic matter content of the rice field; (2) analyzing the soil organic matter content of the rice field samples; (3) interpret the results of the analysis of the soil organic matter content as a consideration for the addition of organic matter in the rice field. This research was conducted in five sub-districts of Bondowoso Regency for six months from June 2020 to December 2020. The number of samples or samples that will be carried out in this activity is as many as 75 scattered in 5 sub-districts each three villages and in each village as many as 5 soil samples. Each soil sampling location will be determined its geographic position by means of a GPS (Global Position System). The results showed recommendations for the addition of organic matter from lowland soil as follows: (i) Low to moderate levels of soil fertility in Tenggarang, Bondowoso, Pakem sub-districts with the need for an additional organic matter of 20 - 50 tonnes/ha; (ii) The level of soil fertility in Curahdami and Binakal sub-districts is moderate with the need for an additional organic matter of 16 - 40 tonnes / ha.
