Abstract
The objective of this study is to determine the effectiveness of giving fermented herbal extracts of Imperata cylindrica and Cyperus rotundus L. (Akar Alang-Alang dan Akar Rumput Teki in Bahasa Indonesia) on the percentage of carcasses and abdominal broiler fat. This study applies Totally Randomized Design (TRD) with 5 treatments and 4 replications namely P0 (control), P1 (3 ml / ℓ water), P2 (6 ml / ℓ water), P3 (9 ml / ℓ water) and P4 (12 ml / ℓ water). The parameters observed in this study are harvest weight, carcass weight, carcass percentage, and abdominal fat percentage. This research apllies Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the research show that giving fermented herbal extract at a dose of 3 ml, 6 ml, 9 ml and 12 ml has very significant effects (P <0.01) on harvest weight, carcass weight and percentage of carcass while it does not significantly affect the percentage of abdominal fat. Giving fermented herbal extracts has the positive impact on the body weight and percentage of broiler carcasses. Giving fermented herbal extracts at a dose of 9 ml produces the percentage of carcasses which reach 73.96% at the age of 35 days.
