Abstract

ntroduction:ShallotsareahorticulturalproductneededbytheIndonesianpeople,theproductionofshallotshasdecreasedby16.54%.Thedeclineinproductionin2018wascausedbyextremeweatherinthefirstquarterwhichresultedinasignificantdecreaseinproduction.ThepurposeofthestudywastodeterminetheinteractionbetweentheuseofvarietiesandtheadministrationofZPTatvariousconcentrationsonthegrowthanddevelopmentofshallotplants.Methods:Theexperimentaldesignusedarandomizedblockdesign(RBD)with2factors,namely,theonionvarietyfactor(V1:BaujivarietyandV2:BlueLancorvariety)andtheconcentrationofPGR(BAPandGA3)consistingofZ0:control(withoutPGR),Z1:BAP50ppm,Z2:GA3150ppm,Z3:BAP50ppm+GA3150ppm.Results:TheresultsshowedthattheuseofvariousvarietiesandconcentrationsofPGRdidnotaffectthevegetativegrowthofShallots.Theuseofvariousvarietieshasasignificantlydifferenteffectonthegenerativedevelopmentofshallotplants.TheuseofZPTconcentrationsdidnotaffectthegenerativedevelopmentofplants.Twovarieties,namelyBaujiandBiruLancor,wereunabletoinfluencethegrowthanddevelopmentofshallotsinthevegetativeandgenerativephasesbecauseofthegeneticcharacteristicsoftheplantswhosefunctionwastocharacterizeeachvariety.Apartfromgeneticfactors,thisisthoughttobecausedbythedegreeofsuitabilityofthevarietytoitsenvironment.Conclusion:TheBaujivarietyis more suitable to be planted in the lowlands of Antirogo than the Blue Lancor variety.
