Abstract

The managing and controlling activities of borrowing and returning medical record documents at Gresik Petrokimia Hospital are still done manually, with data on the delay in returning medical record documents that are obtained are 83.5% in June 2018, 74% in July 2018, and 73.5% in August 2018 medical record files from hospitalization and outpatient care. Retention and destruction activities carried out at Petrokimia Gresik Hospital are still done manually, officers must see one by one the medical record file on the shelf to find out whether the file has entered the retention period or not, and than sorted into use values and stored in a box in a separate room. The purpose of this study is to create an information system that can facilitate officers in carrying out the filing of medical record documents. This research is a qualitative research conducted in October 2018 - January 2019, using waterfall method. The stages of this study include needs analysis, design, coding, and testing. The unit of analysis in this study consisted of research subjects (the head of the medical record, and two filing officers) and the object of research (Petrokimia Gresik Hospital Filing Work Unit). Data collecting process is done by observation, interviews, and brainstorming, with results in the form of a web-based medical record filing information system that can be used by admin and user or filing officers to facilitate medical record filing activities.
