Abstract

This study aims to determine that Biodiesel is a fuel that contains ester compounds from plants and animal fats so that it can be used as a potential alternative fuel as a substitute for diesel. The biodiesel is seen from the flame test of the vehicle. To obtain certainty of the quality of domestic biodiesel type biofuel, it is necessary to re-stipulate the specifications for biofuel. In this study, the experiment was conducted to try to treat processed coconut oil vegetable waste to be processed and used as diesel fuel, after the coconut oil that has been processed into fuel will be tested on diesel vehicles for testing the characteristics of biodiesel seen from Viscosity, Flash Point, Density, Calorific Value. and vehicle flame test. Based on the data from the test results of the characteristics of the fuel above, it can be concluded that coconut oil biodiesel (NaOH) is superior to coconut oil biodiesel (KOH) even though it has a good flash point value because almost all the data from the characteristic test results are more inclined to biodiesel. coconut oil (NaOH).
