Abstract

This is the report of the final project entitled “ Making a Guidebook of Tourism Objects in North Jember”. The project was made because north Jember has potential tourism objects. Yet, there was no promotional media that described all about tourism objects in north Jember. Tourism and Culture Department in Jember only had promotional media in website and guidebook which is just explain Jember in generally. It needed promotional media to promote tourism objects in north Jember for introduce this tourism objects and increase number of tourist visit in Jember. Based on this fact, the writer chose Tourism Guidebook to promote tourism objects in north Jember. Tourism Guidebook consisted of short explanation about each destination, accommodation, location, facility, ticket price, hotel, restaurant, and maps. The writer adapted the process of making Tourism Guidebook Aprilia (2009). There were 8 steps that the writer did in making guidebook, those were: 1) deciding idea (2) focusing on the idea (3) outlining the book (4) writing the book (5) arranging layout, background, and cover (6) reviewing (7) producing the product (8) distributing. This Tourism Guidebook can be used to help domestic and non-domestic tourist visit tourism, objects in north Jember. In finishing this project, took so much time, patience, hard works, struggles and total dedication. This guidebook was printed: 21cm x 15cm in Landscape size, 24 pages, it was designed with full color looking; cover, background, fonts and it was provide bilingually; English and Bahasa Indonesia. The guide consisted of three parts. The first part was opening, which was about cover, table of content and short history of Jember. The second part was content. Which was deeply explain about tourism objects around north Jember, those are Situs Duplang, J88, Kotok Forest, Damarwulan waterfall, and Anjasmoro waterfall completely with destination, how to go to tourism objects, ticket price, facility, tips, and accommodation. The last part was closing. It was contain tourist information and references. In process of content making, the writer had to apply English skill such as writing and translation. Then, to make beautiful design, the writer decided ask to the designer’s help and suggestions. Hopefully, this tourism guidebook may give much beneficial for tourists who want to visit cultural tourism in Jember
