Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a vegetable plant that belongs to the Cucurbitaceae family which is popular in Indonesia. To get cucumber seeds with good quality, there are several things we must did when cultivating plants. According to this research, we can improve the cultivation of cucumber plants by maintaining water shoot branches and maintaining the number of fruits. The purpose of this study was to determine the best number of water shoots and the number of fruits to increase the production of cucumber seeds. This research was conducted in CV. Aura Seed Indonesia in September to December 2021. This study consisted of two treatments, namely, maintenance of water shoots and number of fruit. There are three levels of maintenance of water shoot branches, including, without the maintenance of water shoot branches, 3 branching of water shoots, and 5 branching of water shoots. Maintenance of the number of fruit there are two levels include, maintenance of 3 fruit / plant and 5 fruit / plant. This study used ANOVA analysis and then further tested using LSD level 5%. The parameters observed in this study were fruit diameter, fruit length, production per hectare, fruit weight per sample, seed weight per plant, germination test, and moisture content test. Treatment of water shoots maintenance had a very significant effect (**) on production parameters per hectare, fruit weight per sample, and seed weight per plant. The treatment of maintaining the number of fruits gave a very significant effect (**) on production parameters per hectare and seed weight per plant.
