Abstract
The rapid demand for durian is inversely proportional to the availability of quality durian fruit. This is due to the presence of pests on durian plants. Pests are a very serious stumbling block because they can harm farmers if not treated early. Pests are now reducing crop yields, making durian fruits and crops less than optimal for durian tree growers. To control this pest, farmers need to collect information about the symptoms of pests and solutions to combat durian pests. Therefore, an expert system is needed that can diagnose durian pests based on their expertise. The use of the Durian Plant Expert System is carried out using the Certainty Factor method which is applied to durian plant pests. Therefore, an expert system was developed to diagnose durian plant pests using the web-based Certainty Factor method. This system can be viewed online by durian farmers and helps farmers easily diagnose pests on their durian plants. This expert system must be able to input expert knowledge into a computer so that the wider community can solve problems like an expert. The accuracy results were carried out by comparing the results of manual and system diagnostics carried out by experts on 9 cases of durian plant pests so that 100% accuracy was obtained. This expert system can be used to diagnose durian plant pests based on known symptoms.
