Abstract

Sugarcane is a plant that is highly considered in the plantation sector because domestic and foreign sugar needs are very abundant. The problems that often occur in sugarcane plants are in terms of nurseries, lack of nutrients, and a less than optimal root system. This study aims to determine the effect of media and the provision of Auxin ZPT on the growth of sugarcane seeds of PS 881 variety with the budset method. This research was conducted in January 2022 – May 2022 on the land of the Jember State Polytechnic. This study used a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with the first factor being Various Media Compositions and the second factor being ZPT Auxin, there were 12 treatment combinations and 3 replications. Various Factors Composition of Media consists of 3 kinds, namely (Cow Manure, Goat Manure and Husk Charcoal). Auxin ZPT concentration factors are (100 ml, 200 ml and 300 ml). Further testing was carried out with the BNJ follow-up test with a level of 5%. The results showed that the treatment of various media compositions was significantly different for the parameters of plant height 30, 60 and 90 days after planting, diameter 60 days after planting, number of tillers 30, 60 and 90 days after planting, wet weight and dry weight of roots. The administration of ZPT Auxin gave significantly different results to the wet weight parameters of the roots.
