Abstract

An assessment of the efficiency of bed use in hospitals can be carried out with BOR, LOS, TOI, and BTO parameters using the Barber-Johnson Graph. The value of BOR, LOS, TOI and BTO at rsud dr. H. Moh. Anwar Sumenep has experienced fluctuations and has not met Barber-Johnson's standards. This condition has an impact on the quality of hospital services and hospital income. The purpose of the study was to analyze the efficiency of bed use based on the Barber-Johnson Chart for 2017-2021 and analyze the internal and external factors causing the achievement of bed use efficiency at dr. H. Moh Hospital. Anwar Sumenep. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. The methods of data collection are in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The subjects of the study were the head of medical records, the head of the room, the service department, the nurse, and the patient. Research instruments are in the form of interview guidelines, observation guidelines, recording tools and stationery. The data analysis technique in this study uses descriptive analysis (BOR, LOS, TOI, BTO values) and qualitative data analysis (data reduction, data display, and conclusion /verification). The results of the study based on the Barber-Johnson Chart of bed use in hospitals in 2017-2021 were not in an efficient area. Factors causing the lack of efficiency in the use of beds are the limitation of supporting equipment that sometimes makes patients queue or referred to other hospitals, the lack of promotion carried out to the community, the socio-cultural situation of the community which is still close to traditional medicine and the low knowledge in utilizing health facilities and the existence of klb greatly affects the number of patient visits. The researcher's suggestion that hospitals can maximize the use of TT is that hospitals can increase promotion to the community such as approaching community leaders or religious leaders in the community.
