Abstract
Barber-Johnson Graphics indicators are BOR, aLOS, TOI, and BTO, it can be used to evaluate the improvement of efficiency of bed utilization of inpatient care. In some hospitals there are still conditions that show the inefficient use of inpatient beds. The purpose of this study is to review and analysis the literature related to the efficiency of bed utilization of inpatient care based on Barber-Johnson graphs at hospital, identify parameters, and determine the factors that influenced them. This study uses a literature review and it was found 80 literatures from searches using keywords with boolean OR and AND in various databases namely Google Scholar, Portal Garuda, Crossref, and E-library Polije. The findings were then analyzed according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study and 15 literatures were found. The results of the review show that the use of inpatient beds in hospitals is inefficient due to the Barber-Johnson indicator value that is not in accordance with the specified standard and the point of intersection of the indicators is outside the efficient area. Factors that affect the achievement of efficiency in the use of inpatient beds include health workers, hospital facilities, BPJS policies, location or location, service costs, promotions, and patient conditions.
