Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Trichoderma spp. against P. pachyrizi leaf rust disease in Edamame soybeans plants. This research was conducted in the Dukuh Mencek village, Sukorambi District, Jember Regency. Starts in December 2019 until March 2020. This research method compares two Edamame plants areas with different treatments in controlling leaf rust disease. The first area is using Trichoderma spp. 108 CFU, dose of 500 liters per ha., cow manure, dose of 5 tons per ha., straw mulch 5 tons per ha. Biourine 1 liter mixed with 10 liters of water by spraying it on plants. The second area uses a fungicide with an active ingredient of Metallaxyl 2 grams/liter, a dose of 500 liters per ha., Urea 150 kgs/ha, SP-36 150 kgs/ha, KCl 100 kgs/ha., Gandasil D. Observed variables: the inhibitory of Trichoderma spp to P. pachyrizi growth, attack intensity, number of pods and pod weight per cluster. Data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0. The conclusions of the study were: the inhibitory of Trichoderma spp 106 CFU was 25%, 108 CFU was 50% and 109 CFU was 75%, the intensity of P. pachyrizi attack Trichoderma spp was 0.70 %, lower than the Metallaxyl was 1.17 %. The number of pods of Trichoderma spp was 20.88 pods per clumps, lower than Metallaxil which is 29.76 pods per clump. The weight of Trichoderma spp treatment pods was 41.66 grams per clump, lower than Metallaxyl which was 51.72 grams per clump.
