Abstract

One of the factors for the decline in soybeans is the aphid Aphis glycines Matsmura which is the main problem in soybean cultivation, so it is necessary to carry out environmentally friendly pest control. This study aims to determine the optimum concentration of gold snail shell chitosan and how to compare population treatment, attack intensity and yield of chitosan treatment with chemical pesticides with active ingredients profenos. This research was conducted in April – July 2022, located in Patemon Village, Pakusari District, Jember Regency. This study used a nonparametric method by comparing the two treatments between treatment plants and control plants. In this treatment, 50 plant samples were taken using probability sampling method with random sampling type. Data analysis used the ANOVA test followed by the BNT Advanced Test at 5% level. The results showed that the concentration of chitosan gave the effect of differences in pest mortality with a concentration of 73% on the insecticide treatment was said to be effective if the efficacy level was 70%. To meet application standards in the field. The results showed that there was a significant difference in the population and intensity of attack with the lowest results being 8.38 heads of chitosan treatment population and 6.8 tails of chemical pesticides while the highest attack intensity was 0.40% chitosan treatment and 0.33% chemical pesticides. and has a weight of soybean pods treated with chitosan 73.98 g and chemical pesticide treatment as much as 72.44 g because the use of pesticides based on the control threshold can suppress pests by 73.33%.
