Abstract

There have been many cases of spreading false news or commonly referred to as hoaxes. For the development of hoax prevention technology, this has also appeared several times, but so far the hoax detection technology applied to the hoax detection system is still rarely found. In this study, the Tf-Idf calculation is used to measure the weight of a word in a hoax document and the Naive Bayes method to measure the distance between words in the document. The application of the Naive Bayes Method in the Hoax Detection System consists of several steps, starting with the word preprocessing steps, followed by the Tf-Idf calculation step and then the minimum distance between words using the Naive Bayes method. This study uses 4,000 data sets divided by 3,500 as training data and 500 as test data. The results of the testing process using the confusion matrix get accuracy, precision and recall from training data of 80.38%, 87.3% and 66%.
