Abstract
Drying is a way to remove or remove most of the water from the material using heat energy. The removal of water from the material is carried out until the moisture content is balanced with a certain environment in which fungi, enzymes of microorganisms, and harmful insects become inactive. The drying method is generally divided into 2, namely direct sun drying, where the product to be dried is directly dried in the sun and solar drying, where the product to be dried is placed in a dryer. The fish drying method used by the community generally still uses the direct sun drying method where the fish is dried under direct sunlight. This drying method encountered several obstacles, including requiring a relatively longer time, requiring a large enough area, and depending on the weather, as well as a low level of cleanliness. One way that can be done to overcome this problem is by applying mechanical drying which can be done by using a hybrid greenhouse effect dryer (ERK). Hybrid dryers (ERK) utilize solar radiation and biomass energy as heat sources for the drying process. In testing the hybrid greenhouse effect dryer (ERK) produces the highest efficiency of 1.95%, namely in the second test by utilizing heat energy from biomass. The highest reduction in water content occurred in the 3rd test of 25.35%. Meanwhile, the highest drying rate occurred in the 3rd test at 1.56 grams / minute.
