Abstract

This study aims to determine the best composition of off grade Arpus adhesive on banana peel and rice husk charcoal briquettes. Data analysis used in this study was to perform three variations of Arpus adhesive composition off grade 12%, 16% and 20% by weight of banana peel charcoal and rice husk with a ratio of 1:2. The method used is slow pyrolysis or carbonization. The results showed that banana peel and rice husk charcoal briquettes with 20% adhesive composition in Variation 3 were the best of several other comparisons and met the standards in SNI with an average calorific value of 5549,53 cal/gr, water content value 6.9 %, ash content 5.79%, density 0.9 gr/cm3, kamba density 0.44 gr/cm3 and combustion rate 0.04 gr/s.
