Abstract
USE OF ORGANIC MATERIALS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF ARABIC COFFEE SEEDS (Coffea arabica) LINY VARIETY S 795 As chief counselor Ir. Titien Fatimah, MP Fatika Fauziyah Hardini Study Program of Plantation Crop Cultivation Departement of Agriculture Production ABSTRACT Coffee is a plantation crop commodity that has a high level of production among other plantation crops. Coffee is a plant that produces quite a large byproduct of waste including coffee husk waste, which is quite abundant, ranging from 50-60% of the harvest and can be used as a base material for making compost or organic fertilizers. Organic fertilizer derived from coffee husk compost has a high organic matter content compared to other organic fertilizer sources, one of which is the N element. N is used by plants for the vegetative growth process. This research was conducted in October 2019 - February 2020 in the collection garden, Jember State Polytechnic. This study used a non-factorial randomized block design (RBD) with the addition of coffee husk compost with doses of 0 g, 120 g, 150 g, 180 g, 210 g. There are 5 treatments and 5 replications. Further testing was carried out by further testing BNJ (Real Difference Honest) with a level of 5%. The results showed that the use of coffee husk compost had a significant effect on the 8 MST plant height parameters; number of leaves 12, 16 MST; rod diameter 8, 12, 16 MST; plant wet weight 16 MST; and plant dry weight of 16 MST.
