Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of AB mix fertilizer treatment on the production and quality of suri cucumber seeds, determine the effect of the stem and branch pruning system treatment on the production and quality of suri cucumber seeds, and determine the interaction between AB mix fertilizer treatment and the stem and branch pruning system. on the production and quality of suri cucumber seeds. This research was conducted from October 2020 to January 2021 at PT. Benih Citra Asia Akmaludin Street No. 26, Wirowongso Village, Ajung District, Jember, East Java. The experimental design used was factorial RAK (Randomized Block Design), which was the first factor in the application of AB mix fertilizer consisting of control (A0), 6 ml/L (A1), and 9 ml/L (A2). The second factor is a pruning system consisting of control (P0), pruning branches (maintaining only 2nd and 3rd branches (P1), and pruning 5th internode branches and trunks (maintaining only 2nd and 3rd branches) (P2). Based on the results and discussion, the AB mix fertilizer treatment had a very significant effect on the parameters of the number of fruits per plant with the highest average concentration of 6 ml/L (A1) of 1.87 fruits and seed production per hectare with the highest average at concentration 6 ml/L of 102.78 kilograms/ha. The treatment of trimming stems and branches significantly affected the parameters of seed production per hectare with the highest average pruning branches and stems of the 5th segment (only maintain branches 2 and 3) (P2) of 105.11 kilograms/ha and weight of 1000 grains with the highest average on branch pruning (only maintain the 2nd stem and branch) (P1) of 19.2 grams. While the very significant effect on the parameters of the number of fruits per plant with the highest average pruning branches and trunks of the 5th segment (only maintain branches 2 and 3) (P2) of 1.96 pieces. There is a significant interaction between the treatment of AB mix fertilizer and trimming stems and branches on the weight parameter of 1000 grains with the highest average being without AB mix fertilizer and branch pruning (maintain stems and branches only 2) (A0P1) of 20.57 grams and very significantly to the parameters of seed production per hectare with the highest average concentration of AB mix fertilizer of 9 ml/L and branch pruning (maintain stems and 2nd branch only) of 118 kilograms/ha.
